The moving image has recently become increasingly present in contemporary art. The Nordic region holds an important position in the field of video and digital media, and several artists with international reputation have emerged from the region.

Despite the great interest in this field, remarkably little has been published on the topic internationally or in the Nordic countries. This anthology will gather a series of important essays dealing with contemporary film, video installations and related topics. Special attention will be given to aspects such as time, space and the relation with the viewer.
