Press to Exit Gallery in Skopje (Macedonia)

Press to Exit Gallery is an exhibition space dedicated to the promotion and presentation of contemporary art by Macedonian and international artists, curators, and organizations. Established in September 2002 in the framework of the Swiss Cultural Programme Macedonia / Pro Helvetia Skopje, the gallery is supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and additional partners.

Selection of recent projects and exhibitions have included COMPILER//01 “Was ist kunst, Marinela Kozelj?” (a DVD Magazine for Contemporary Art) project by independent curator Susann Wintsch (Switzerland) with presentations by Sokol Beqiri (Kosovo), Albert Heta (Kosovo) and Nebojsha Milikic (Serbia and Montenegro) (November 2003); Our Correspondent from Skopje by Berlin based artist Antje Schiffers (April 2004); and the group exhibition One must draw the line somewhere focusing on drawing as a practice and a medium, curated by Yane Calovski and Miriam Bers and co-produced with K&S Gallery, Berlin (December 2004) among many other projects. The gallery is run by Hristina Ivanoska (visual artist and Cultural Programme Officer, Pro Helvetia Skopje), Yane Calovski (visual artist) and Biljana Tanurovska (art manager).
