Åland Islands -- Eckerö Post and Customs House

Nordic AiR residencies available for 2-4 months during 2006.

Through a collaboration with Åland’s Government a residency is available in
The Eckerö Post and Customs House. The building was built in 1828 according to plans
by the architects C.L. Engel and C. Bassi.

The guest apartment (c. 50 m2) has a bedroom and a combined work/living room + pantry.

The Eckerö Post & Customs House is 35 km från Mariehamn, the capital of the Åland Islands, and 500 m from the Eckerö Line’s boats to Sweden. There are several daily connections to Mariehamn, as well as, good connections to Sveden.

The building also houses a summer cafe, hostel, exhibition space, post office and the Post Route Museum. The building is situated only 100 m from the Åland Sea and has excellent bathing possibilities in the summertime.
