Sweden -- Konstepidemin in Gothenburg

One studio with accommodation for one artist. The artist can be accompanied by
a family member.

Konstepidemin is situated 10 minutes walk from the center of Gothenburg (Göteborg), close to the Botanical Garden and with good transportations to the sea.

More than a hundred artists have their working studios at Konstepidemin. The buildings used to lodge an Epidemic hospital and has a total area of 4000
sq m.

At the Konstepidemin area you can also find 4 galleries, small theatre premises, a room for lectures and a restaurant, which forms a natural meeting-place for the people working there.

The studios contain working area (approx. 39 sq m.), bedroom, kitchen and a shower (a total of 83 sq.m). The ceiling height in the work space is 3,35 m The kitchen and the bedroom are fully furnished and equipped with a CD/radio and a TV set. There is a washing machine available in the area. The studio has an easel and a work table, and it is possible to borrow special machinery and other tools.There are also a printing workshop and a darkroom in the area. Access to computer, xerox, fax and bicycle. The artist will also receive a free entrance card to all museums in Gothenburg. A telephone (+46 31 41 08 51) can be installed at a an extra charge.

Nordic AiR 2006 residencies are available during the period 3 January - 28 December 2006.
