The living group portrait – a representation of feminism today, February 29 2004, Copenhagen
Video installation 120 min 5 x 8 meters wall projection.
Open invitation to those, who consider themselves feminists. Invitation via email and mail to relevant feminist, social, political, artist networks and persons. 220 persons showed up and participated Sunday 29.02.04 during filming. They were invited to participate for however long, by coming into the frame of the camera and taking part in the representation. This project encompasses the inherent dilemma of art history which represents itself as disinterested and neutral. 80 persons chose to give their individuel statement on feminism. The group portrait and the 80 statements are edited to a 120 minute video. The portrait questions categorizations, representation & history writing – and opens for debate on personal relations to the concept of feminism.

Rolestories is a portrait of 7 professors´ tellings from Roskilde Universitycenter (RUC).
The protrait sets focus on the long expected broader representation of female professors by the danish universities.
Since the foundation of RUC in 1972 11 women have been employed as professors.
Rolestories are quotations of 7 professors transcribed and edited from 11 hours video interview and montaged on photographs of miniature universes. The ’verbal language’ of the quotations show the co-relations between structurel and interpersonal levels of conscienceness.

Manual is an allegorical telling. Un surface the videotape is an invitational manual to chok, stres and trauma treatment.
9 body terapeutical exercises is showed silmutaneously on a 3 x 3 split screen.
The same woman shows all exercises, 1 exercise pr. screen with descriptive subtitles. Parallel to the instructional level runs a story about taking one´s own room, as invidual independent person. The woman shows reluctance, frustration, depression, grief, anger, joy. The viewer is challenged to do cross-readings between the 9 simultaneous sound- and picture tracks. Stories of the woman´s ’stream of consciousness’ arise. What´s the role of the viewer? Where lies subjectivity?

There are 28 registered memorials of women in Denmark, out of 2500 monuments in DK. www.monument.dk
Of those are 19 memorials for Royalties. Only 9 memorials for female, non-royal personalities.
HOMMAGE is an ’index’ of 21 women who might just as well have been honoured by memorials in public space.
Every woman proposed here lived within the same period as the man, who is honoured by the whole figure statue.
The personalities are selected by readings in The Danish Biography of Women and KVINFO´s Womens references.

Group performance. Invitation from Hotel- & Restaurant School (HRS) to spacial-decoration, Copenhagen, DK.
22 persons in waiter uniforms acted as ’living walls’ while 5 journalists ate the dinner prepared by students at HRS.
’The room encouraged mental activity – everything does not have to be cosy!....lifted above the cosiness....a help to think clear thoughts. It was an intellectual expanding room. A room for the brain’, quote by one of the food journalists.
