Visual artists Lise Skou graduated from The Funen Academy of Fine Arts, Odense, Denmark (2004).
In 2003, when participating in The Whitney Museum of American Art Independent Study Program in New York, USA, she started a collaboration with Swedish artist Andrea Creutz, on a series of sound-, video-, and text-based installations.
As their starting point, they used their own as well as other people's experiences of being exposed to increasing control and surveillance. Since then, they have produced several projects which deal with authorities' and media's construction of: paranoia, Otherness, and myths of cultural superiority and inferiority. With installations and sound narrations, they have participated in group exhibitions such as: Spheres of Valency (Galéria Jána Koniarka, Trnava, Slovakia, 2003) and Ideologia II Nordic Biennale (Gothenburg, Sweden, 2003). In 2004, their solo show, Selected, opened in rum46, Aarhus, Denmark. In their interdisciplinary practice, they address economical, political, social, and cultural questions, acknowledging that contemporary art and critical reflection make up a coherent area of meaning.
Their most recent projects The hidden Flow Project and Psychological Operations takes its point of departure in the impacts of imperialism and capitalism.
The Hidden Flow Project focus on models for economic systems that function as counterparts to the dominant monetary economy. Furthermore, the work investigates the potential for local economic systems to impact global economy and advocate for the egalitarian distribution of resources.
Psychological operations/PSYOP for Minority Report Challenging Intolerance in Ccontemporary Denmark is a project, which investigates the unconscious influences and psychological processes that lead to the formation of intolerance and stereotypical images. The artists developed a series of workshops that took place in July 2004. The workshop participants were visitors in the shopping mall Bruun's Galleri. Through different exercises that focused on the formation of stereotypes and manipulative processes, the participants were confronted with the power structures, which implement these images in the individual. This material forms the starting point for an audio play and a series of events based on invisible theater to be installed in Kvickly's Café in Bruun's Galleri for the duration of Minority Report.

Residency:
At my residency in Sarajevo I will continue my research in relation to The Hidden Flow Project; a project focussing on the construction of a new Imperialism and Post Colonialism and its relation to different systems and structures: political, economic, religious, cultural.
In view of my project involving economic structures and imperialism a residency in specific post war conditions like Sarajevo - going through a process of economic and social reconstruction and transition - would give me the opportunity to analyse parallels between political and economic imperialism.
Ultimately the project will be presented as a performative sound- and text based installation.
