Education
I studied architecture for 6 years (1993/1999) in Vilnius Academy of Arts. I have a Master of the Arts in Architecture.

Concepts & ideas
I see artistic creativity as a search for ideas that allow different forms of art coexist and different concepts influence each other. I’m designing conceptual buildings of the future, which, if built, would enable us to lead a more conscious, visual, sustainable, waste-free lifestyle. This kind of architecture merges well into the environment, houses art, and actually is art in its own right. Conceptual layout of space is a kind of philosophy; it enables the formation of a community, where people are well aware of each other, and the surroundings. Quality of design, structural logics, clarity of spatial relations, openness, navigability, and accessibility are very important.

Influences
I experience and value Nature as my tutor and source of inspiration.

Activity
For the past few years I’ve been active as an architect, artist and designer in Lithuania and abroad (The Netherlands, USA, Norway). In 2000/2001 I was an artist-in-residence at Nordisk Kunstnarsenter Dalsåsen (Norway). I was invited to be a resident artist at NIFCA in 2003 (April/May). In general, my work can be classified as: 1) conceptual designs, drawings and models; 2) designs for real public buildings and spaces; 3) interior designs; 4) furniture designs; 5) publishing designs, illustrations for print; 6) multimedia work; 7) video art.

Media
As an artist, I work with different materials and use different methods. I work with traditional materials, such as wood, paper, and ink. However, digital media too offers a complete set of powerful tools for creation and publishing (digital video, the Internet, etc). I believe there is a lot of unexplored potential in creative combination of traditional materials with digital media.
