Luisa Lambri: Blind Room

Luisa Lambri shows a selection of photographs from the "Blind Room" series taken during a residency in Finland in 1998, as well as a new 16 mm film. In her work the Nordic architecture and the Italian Functionalist style have been transformed in imaginary places.
Luisa Lambri was born in Como, Italy, in 1969. She lives and works in Milan. Her work has been shown in galleries and museums in Europe and in the United States.
In 1998, Luisa Lambri spent 4 months in a NIFCA studio at Suomenlinna, working on a
series of photographs on Finnish architecture, particularly buildings by Alvar Aalto (1898 - 1976).
In connection with the exhibition opening at Photogallery Hippolyte in Helsinki. Luisa Lambri presented her work at an "Artists Talk" event in the Kiasma museum on March 27. 1999, organised by NIFCA in collaboration with the museum.
This exhibition has been organized in cooperation with NIFCA (Nordic Institute for Contemporary Art) in Helsinki, Contemporary Art Centre, Vilnius, Italian Culture Institute in Vilnius, Photogallery Hippolyte in Helsinki and Fotogalleriet in Oslo.
