ON THE ROLE OF THE ART INSTITUTION IN THE NORDIC COUNTRIES IN ENGAGING WITH MULTIPLE PUBLIC SPHERES

The idea of the workshop is to continue the discussions on "Representation and Power" that started at the “Critical Forum” in August 2003 at Suomenlinna, but to focus on the topic of the art institutions in the nordic countries and to discuss how 'the institution' and here specifically Nifca could be useful for contemporary artists as a production site. Therefore some of the last year’s participants will be invited to this workshop again, and others will be invited specifically for this discussion.

The workshop will be hosted by Nifca curators Nina Möntmann and Simon Sheikh.
