In Copenhagen, the launch takes place from 5 – 8 pm at Overgaden Institute of Contemporary Art. Here co-curator Tone Olaf Nielsen will introduce the exhibition project and its publications. Artist Jane Jin Kaisen and the organization VISION – den om lighed will then present their contributions to the project. Finally, theorist Rikke Andreassen will moderate an open discussion on the forgotten history of Nordic colonialism. The evening is concluded with music and refreshments.


Finland, Helsinki

In Helsinki, the launch takes place from 5 – 10 pm at NIFCA, Nordic Institute for Contemporary Art in Suomenlinna. Here project Coordinator Aura Seikkula will introduce the exhibition project and its publications. Artists Julie Edel Hardenberg and Marja Helander as well as the magazine Voima will then present their contributions to the project. Finally, Ritva Siikala, director of the multicultural art association Kassandra, will moderate an open discussion on the forgotten history of Nordic colonialism. The evening is concluded with music and refreshments.


Norway, Oslo

In Oslo, the launch takes place from 5 – 8 pm at Torpedo Kunstbokhandelen. Here curatorial assistant Ellen Wettmark will introduce the exhibition project and its publications. Artist Geir Tore Holm will then present his contribution to the project, while Hanin Al-Khamisi from New Meaning will talk about how the ‘foreigner’ has become dependent on kind helpers. Finally, Daniella Wennberg from Internasjonalt Kultursenter og Museum will make a short presentation and moderate an open discussion on the forgotten history of Nordic colonialism. The evening is concluded with music by DJ Daisy and refreshments from Indigo.


Sweden, Stockholm
