The Refugee Calendar consists of photos of refugees, photographed in Tampere, Finland, in September 2001.
The persons photographed are all waiting for a reply to their asylum application in Finland. Other than having the intention of drawing attention to the problems refugees face, these photographs aim to put specific focus on the aspect of attraction and excitement aroused in the meeting with a new country, a potential new home.

All of the photographs were shot in Tampere, Finland in September 2001. The persons photographed are all waiting for a reply to their asylum application in Finland.
