Capital (It Fails Us Now)
Edited by Simon Sheikh
The book explores the notion of capital, taking as its point of departure, on the one hand location, and on the other subjectivity how capitalism affects our daily lives, our very structure of feelings and perceptions. Capital is understood as an economic tool, as a measure of exchange and surplus, and as something at once regulated and regulating by both state and market as well as a producer of subjectivity; the commodification of everything. The publication includes artistic contributions and essays related to the group exhibition Capital (It Fails Us Now), shown at UKS in Oslo and at Kunstihoone in Tallinn during winter 20052006.
