Russia -- The Pro Arte Institute in St. Petersburg
The PRO ARTE Institute is an educational centre working in the sphere of art and culture of the 20th Century. It is a non-governmental organization founded in 1999 in St. Petersburg, Russia, to promote contemporary culture in the fields of visual art, music and dance. The PRO ARTE Institute, situated in the Peter and Paul Fortress in the heart of historical St. Petersburg provides an extensive range of courses and lectures designed to familiarise participants with the main themes and concepts of contemporary art and culture. Besides weekly lectures, the PRO ARTE Institute carries out an intensive schedule of diverse events including concerts, exhibitions,seminars, round tables and grant competitions for Russian artists and cultural institutions. The PRO ARTE Institute actively encourages and supports manifestations of contemporary culture in the spheres of visual art, music cinema and media art.

The Multimedia laboratory at Pro Arte is designed to facilitate the realization of a wide variety of projects in the field of multimedia art. It is fitted with ten Pentium-III/500MHz workstations and contains all the necessary equipment for working with 2D- and 3D-images and digitally processing video images and sound.
