Selected biography

Brief characteristic of my work:
My practice varies when it comes to media, but my work is often site spesific and relates to the given environment both socially and arcitectual. A big part of the working process is research and discussions with fellow artists, friends, curators and other people I meet. I pick my references from pop culture, art history, literature, philsophy and nature in my attempt to seduce the viewer both visually and intellectual. I often find my work situated along the thin line between entertainment and horror scenarios, sensation and humour, seduction and repulsion.

I write regularly art reviews for the art magazine “Kunst” in Oslo, and I am also active in arranging artist run exhibitions in temporary spaces and likewise. Beliving in exchange and discussion to be important to keep my artistic practice interesting and in the state of flux.

Plans for Nordic Air residency at IASPIS, 2005
My plans for the residency is both to explore the art scene in Stockholm and to immerse myself in my own artistic practice away from my usual surroundings. I find the few things I already know about the art scene in Stockholm very inspiring, and will also use my time to research for future collaborations and projects. I see the situation as an exchange, both social and professionally.
It is important with change of environment in order to stay focused and intence, I look upon a context shift as a healthy supply both in the process of preparing new projects as well as in carrying them out.
