Norway -- Office for Contemporary Art Norway + Atelier Nord in Oslo
The residency in Oslo is a collaboration between Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA) and Atelier Nord. OCA provides the artist-in-residence with studio and accommodation at its International Studio Programme Oslo, Atelier Nord provides facilities for working.

Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA)
The Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA) is a private foundation and was founded by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture and The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the fall of 2001 in order to develop collaborations in the field of contemporary art between Norway and the international art scene. It became operational in January 2002 and the official inauguration of its offices and studios at Kunstnernes hus in Oslo took place in September 2002.
OCA aims to become a profiled contributor to the discourses of contemporary culture through a range of programs and activities.
Beside the OCA residencies for Norwegian artists in Bejing, Berlin, Istanbul, and New York, the International Studio Programme Oslo became operative in 2003. The International Studio Programme Oslo comprises four studios at Kunstnernes hus combined with two apartments (20 min walk from the studios), as well as one housing/studio unit at the artists' colony Ekely. International artists and innovative practitioners in the cultural field are invited for a period of one to three months and participate in the International Studio Programme Oslo. In 2004 and 2005 Office for Contemporary Art Norway and Atelier Nord collaborated for NIFCA West Balkan AiR. In 2006 Office for Contemporary Art Norway and Atelier Nord collaborate for the NIFCA Nordic and Baltic Residency Network for Visual Artists.
OCA provides the artist-in-residence with studio and accommodation at its International Studio Programme Oslo. The accommodation at OCA is available for one artist (families cannot be hosted). The studio (roughly 50 sqm) is equipped with table, chairs, TV monitor, DVD player/VCR, compact stereo-system, 24 hour Internet broadband connection. Additional to the studio the artists have access to a shared kitchen and laundry room. The artists stay in a two bedroom apartment (20 min walk from the studio) that is shared with another artist. The apartment is fully equipped, including towels and bed sheets.

Atelier Nord
Atelier Nord runs production fascilities for electronc art and works to strenghten the infrastructure for art in new media. The facilities at Atelier Nord include, a studio equipped with 3 computer workstations, a video copy station and an electronics workstation. There are both Windows and Macs available, unix-clones will be put up on demand. The machines are suitable for graphical work, web production, video/DVD-production and more. One computer will be for the artist exclusively the artists-in-residency choose which. Access to common resources like copy and fax machine, meeting room, kitchen, assorted equipment like projectors, loudspeakers, players and the like. The artist-in-residence also has access to a 70 square project room. This space can be used as a workspace or a venue for public presentations. The artist will not have exclusive access to this space, it has to be booked by the artist. The project room will be made available for the artist in at least two weeks of the residency. The artist-in-residency will have access to the studio facilities around the clock.
Access to Internet: The artist-in-residency have access to the Internet in the studio and all other rooms at Atelier Nord. The connction is 2 Mb/s. Furthermore the artist has free access to a wide range of Internet services like standard web and mail hosting, mailing list services, databases, scripting environments, live media streaming etc. A shared experimental server is also available for the artist as well as the possibility for artists to put up own experimental servers. The standard (non-experimental servers) are on a 100 Mb/s connection.
